As we approach the end of the holiday season and the beginning of the new year, the team at Leostream took some time to eat, drink, and be merry. More importantly, to reflect on what a productive year 2017 has been and to look forward to all new and exciting developments that 2018 is sure to bring.
Though many of our fellow LeoTeam members had already high-tailed it out of Boston for warmer winter climates, the remaining bunch, as well as a few LeoTeam alums, braved the frigid temps for one last get-together before the end of the year!
We gathered in a lively neighborhood of Cambridge Mass. known as Kendall Square – located just outside of Boston proper. We are proud to be a Boston company, and we like to make the most of all this great city has to offer whenever we can! The Smoke Shop BBQ hosted our gathering, and we chowed down on some of the best BBQ in town!
2017 has been a milestone year for Leostream. In June, we celebrated 15 years since our h
umble beginnings as an idea hatched over a sushi lunch in Boston’s Chinatown. 15 years ago, VDI was in its infancy, and many doubted it would ever take hold. Thankfully, our two brilliant founders saw the potential of not only VDI but of a vendor-neutral connection broker and Leostream was born.
In a marketplace dominated by giants such as VMware, Citrix, and Microsoft, who locked customers into costly, one-size-fits-all virtualization stacks, The Leostream Connection Broker held fast as the, “connection broker to end all connection brokers”– managing VDI environments no matter the infrastructure, hypervisor, operating system or protocol.
As VDI evolved, so did Leostream. At the beginning of this decade, the Cloud changed the way we think about computing, forever. We applied our experience working in on-prem datacenters to be one of the first to offer a brokering solution for cloud-hosted computing instances. Today, the Leostream Connection Broker supports all major public Cloud offerings and provides cloud brokering and management solutions to enterprises and MSPs around the globe.
In 2017, we celebrated more than just a birthday. We celebrated the biggest release of our broker yet, – The Leostream Connection Broker 9.0. Not only does Connection Broker 9.0 offer the latest in
brokering technology, but it also includes our biggest UI redesign ever. We are so proud to offer our customers a connection broker that looks and feels as advanced as the technology itself.
In addition to the Leostream Connection Broker 9.0, we launched two other offerings that help IT professionals around the world build a VDI, DaaS, or Hosted Application solution that works – the Leostream Gateway, and Leostream Services.
The Leostream Gateway is a one-of-a-kind security gateway and HTML5 viewer. Combined with the Leostream Connection Broker it provides our customers with secure access to their environments without sacrificing user accessibility. Leostream Services offers professional services from the VDI experts at Leostream, helping VDI professionals to build and deploy a complete VDI solution from the ground up.
In 2017, we also found our way back to our Chinatown beginnings, opening a new office just beyond the famous Chinatown gate. A satellite to our Waltham headquarters, the new office hosts some of the newest members of our sales and marketing departments in one of the most culturally diverse and vibrant neighborhoods of Boston. As we settle into our new digs, we are gearing up for all the new, exciting developments 2018 has in store for Leostream.
As we reflect on the year, we cannot celebrate our accomplishments without celebrating the people who made them possible. We thank our management team, our dedicated staff, and most importantly, our loyal customers for helping us make 2017 the best year yet!
