Leostream News & Events for June 2009

Last month saw a lot of activity at Leostream with the announcement of Connection Broker 6.0 and Leostream's first sponsorship of Citrix Summit/Synergy. The 6.0 release strengthens Leostream's position as the leading independent connection broker, with comprehensive support for Citrix and key new features (multi-monitor support & USB management) for ensuring a great end-user experience.

Jason Conger captured this live demo of 6.0 at Synergy, and the announcement was met with enthusiasm by the virtualization community including David Marshall, Doug Brown, Mike Vizard, and others. We invite you to check out the new release for yourself - click here for a trial license and download.

Leostream Releases Connection Broker 6.0

We are pleased to announce the general availability of the Connection Broker 6.0. This release rounds out our Citrix capabilities to provide comprehensive support for XenServer and XenApp. Our new XenServer virtual appliance makes it possible to build out an enterprise-class, heterogeneous VDI on a pure Citrix foundation, adding to our long-standing, Citrix Ready support for XenServer. Our XenApp capabilities make it a snap to present desktops and applications side-by-side to the end user. And all resources, Citrix and others, can be managed easily from the one convenient, Web-based administrative console.

6.0 also adds significant end-user productivity enhancements including multi-monitor split/span functionality, and granular USB management capable of passing through any device or class of devices. New administrative features include an enhanced Web interface, resource usage reporting and integration with SysLog servers for more effective audit and compliance.

Running on Citrix XenServer 5.0, this demo highlights Leostream's heterogeneous integration, and the flexibility and range of Leostream policies (including USB management). It shows desktops and XenApp applications integrated side-by-side and the convenience of the unified Leostream Web-based administrator console.

Virtualization.info Comments on 6.0

Alessandro Perilli remarked on the 6.0 release in a recent blog post, identifying our Citrix Ready capabilities and installation support for XenServer as key to our approach as an independent, heterogeneous connection management layer. While Leostream remains a strongly committed VMware TAP partner, we will continue to expand on our VDI integration for other virtualization platforms (such as XenServer and Hyper-V) as they gain ground in the marketplace.
